MINI will continue Mini vs. Porsche race as a Public Challenge

Jim McDowell launched the MINI Cooper S against the Porsche 911 Carrera S Challenge earlier this month. But to no avail. Porsche declined.

Though the Porsche 911 Carrera S is definitely more race worthy than the Mini, Porsche’s CEO refused to be dragged into a marketing gimmick by Mini. But, McDowell still asked for Porsche to reconsider:

But after this statement, Porsche’s CEO did not change his mind. Mini however is not giving up. Now they are opening a public challenge. Mini is calling for a brave driver who wants to race with a Porsche 911 S. If they do not have a Porsche vehicle, Mini will supply them with one they can use for the race. The event will be held tomorrow, at Road Atlanta USA.
