Look: 2023 BMW M2 in an Up-Close Shot

As the official launch of the M2 approaches, leaks continue accumulating, and BMW is having trouble keeping the sports coupe’s design a secret since a handful of photos have surfaced online that show the G87 in all its glory from both the front and the back. The prototype, once again, has a blue colour that could be Zandvoort Blue (C6E).

The square air intakes and the more rectangular kidney grille are telltale signs that this model is a step up from the M240i. The new M2 will borrow its wheels and brakes from the M4 Coupe, which is why its wheel arches appear slightly larger. The headlights on this vehicle appear to have been given the Shadowline treatment since they are tinted like that.

In the back, the red vertical reflectors have a glossy black frame that makes them shine more. The quad exhaust configuration is characteristic of M cars, but don’t forget that the M Performance lineup, starting with the refreshed X1 M35i and M135i, will soon receive the same treatment. This prototype stands out thanks to its carbon fibre roof and subtle trunk lid spoiler, which are painted to match the car’s body.

One Bimmer Post forum member who saw the M2 at the Motorclassica show in Melbourne said the blue was similar to the palest Yas Marina. According to the BMW representative, the sports car with a detuned version of the S58 engine weighs roughly 1,650 kilos (3,637 pounds) in its manual configuration. The M4’s bucket seats will be available as an option up front, and the infant M car’s steering wheel will be used. Information about the available colours has also been revealed. These are Alpine White, Black Sapphire, Toronto Red, and Brooklyn Grey.
