Upon its release, the Lamborghini made various titles about the Urus. One of these titles is “world’s fastest SUV.†On certain fronts, the Urus succeeds. Other automakers, such as BMW, are not waiting on their heels, and its BMW X6 M version is one of them. Both cars have an SUV-Coupe form and a lot of power. Thanks to CarWow, were going to find out which is the quickest on the racetrack.
We’re watching the full-bred Italian take on the Bavarian beast as the guys put on one of their regular drag races. But, how do the specifications match up? The Lamborghini Urus produces 650 horsepower and 850 Nm of torque through a 4-litre twin-turbo V8 that you may recognize from several other VAG-built vehicles. All of its power is transmitted to all four wheels with its 8-speed automatic transmission.Â
The BMW X6 M Competition, on the other hand, is packed with a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8. This produces 625 horsepower and 750 Nm of torque. As you would notice, there’s quite a difference in power and torque. The M xDrive system and an 8-speed automatic gearbox with Launch Control provide an all-wheel drive. Weighing 2.37 tons, the BMW is also a bit huge. Furthermore, a drenched track caused by bad weather on that particular day highlights the value of the all-wheel-drive systems.
On record, the Urus seems to be the fastest, right? There seems to be no place for disagreement if we look at the specifications. But anyway, things are a lot closer than you would expect. Regardless of its specifications, the X6 M Competition is a formidable opponent. Mat couldn’t believe it, and the same goes for the first rolling race. Nevertheless, the BMW appears to be a much wiser choice for the money, even though the Lamborghini also won the brake test.
