BMW has just presented the first ever official photos of the BMW M4 GT4 Sportscar! Well, only what they can reveal so far. The prototype shown below is still heavily camouflaged but it is enough to excite the crowd before it actually makes its racing debut in the 2018 season.
The BMW M4 GTS is still getting ready for the big, official reveal. In the coming year, the prototype will still undergo lots of test drives and fine tuning of BMW Motorsport to ensure maximum performance on the track. BMW is dead serious in winning races with this car. So more than just this preparation, the BMW M4 GT4 will also be subjected to realistic and very difficult road conditions. Since the car is still on the early phase of development, it will not yet compete at the 24-hour race in Dubai next month.
A lot of the parts seen in the BMW M4 GT4 are taken from the M4 GTS. This includes the carbon bonnet with additional air outlets, front splinters, adjustable tailgate, and some carbon fiber components.
BMW Motorsport Director Jens Marquardt says: “Our international customers have celebrated many triumphs in the first year with the BMW M6 GT3. We hope this will continue in 2017. The comprehensive test programme with the BMW M4 GT4 will go on in parallel. We will also see the car in action in a couple of races. Our privateer teams will then compete with the newest model from our product range in 2018. I am particularly pleased that the BMW M235i Racing remains so popular. The widespread use of this race car and the positive feedback from our customers show that this model has been a hit since its introduction in 2014.â€
