Mint Classics, a German BMW dealer and specialist has found a hidden gem: a 1981 BMW M1 hiding in a garage for the last 34 years. It has been collecting a lot of dust but is still actually in pretty good condition.
The BMW M1 was the very first supercar intended for everyday driving. It is powered by a 24-valve, 3.5 liter I6, dry sump, mid-mounted engine that developed 266 hp. In 1980, it impressed everyone with 0-60 in 5.4 seconds and 8 seconds to 100 mph. Only 430 units were ever made.
This particular hidden gem still runs on the original OEM tires and what makes it great is that it only has 7,392 kilometers on the odometer!
There is still heavy restoration work to be done here, especially for the drivetrain components. However, Mint Classics is dedicated to bringing the M1 back to its original condition.
