Hear the BMW M2 With and Without Active Sound Design

BMW recently launched the Active Sound Design feature which helps the vehicle in the sound department. It  basically enhances the engine sounds through the speakers and offers the full driving experience for the powerful cars. Still, there have been some complaints by the customers who claimed that the speaker sound wasn’t as good as expected and that it sounds fake.

It’s true that the ASD wasn’t perfect in the beginning. BMW has improved it over time so it now works better and gives a more authentic sound, so many times you can’t really tell if the sound comes from the engine or the speakers.

One of the BMW M2 owners wanted to test the feature for himself, so he opted for coding out the ASD feature even though that’s not supported by the BMW warranty. He also recorded two videos in which you can hear the difference between the M2 with the ASD and the M2 without it.

As we can hear, the Active Sound Design doesn’t make a significant difference in the grunt, it just amplifies the engine sound inside the cabin. Check out the videos above and see if you agree.
