BMW X1 Chosen as one of the 10 Best Trucks and SUVs

Car and Driver held their first-ever 10 Best Trucks and SUVs award for 2017 and the BMW X1 was chosen in the Subcompact Luxury SUV category. The award will be received by BMW at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit next month.

Car and Driver has been doing their 10Best awards for around 30 years now but this is a particularly new category. The new BMW X1 charmed its way to received the award through its 2.0-liter TwinPower Turbo 4-cylinder engine delivering 228 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. It is the most powerful entry model in the segment.

The interior of the X1 is also amazing. It offers a balance between being driver focused and providing the classic BMW Sports Activity Vehicle feel.

The iDrive operating system’s Control Display is a high resolution 6.5-inch freestanding screen. It can be upgraded to 8.8-inches as well. Standard interior features include: Power front seats with driver-side memory, standard power tailgate, Anthracite headliner, storage package and multifunction sport leather steering wheel.

It also offers innovative connectivity, thanks to a standard 6.5 inch infotainment system with optional enhanced USB and Bluetooth plus Smartphone integration, Adaptive Cruise Control and Active Driving Assistant including forward collision warning with automatic braking capability. If that’s not enough, the 360-watt Harman Kardon HiFi system can be added as an option.

With all these and more, no wonder the BMW X1 was chosen in the 10 Best Trucks and SUVs award for 2017.
