Top Speed conducts a drag race between the almighty BMW M2 and the 2017 Chevrolet Camaro SS Fifty. It is just the speed that matters this time, and not the looks.

The 2017 Chevrolet Camaro SS Fifty is Chevy’s 50th Anniversary edition car. Having Fifty in the name doesn’t add anymore power to it. It is purely aesthetic and is also cool sounding. This particular car is a 2SS variant powered by a 455 hp 5.7 liter naturally-aspirated V8 engine.

The BMW seems to be an underdog with this 365 hp, 3.0 liter turbocharged I6 engine. However, they go neck to neck in terms of performance. Both cars get to 0-60 mph in about 4 seconds.

The BMW gives a better performance from a standstill, but the Camaro is able to keep up soon enough.
In the end, the Camaro is the faster car on the road. The BMW M2, while good, needs better conditions and launch control to be faster.
