The BMW M3 E30 Returns As Sharp New LEGO Speed Champions Kit

The BMW M3 E30 has rolled back into the spotlight, and this time it’s wearing LEGO® colours. To mark four decades since this touring car icon first hit the tarmac, the BMW Group and the LEGO Group have shifted their long-running partnership into a higher gear, co-creating a fresh Speed Champions kit that any motorsport devotee will want parked on their shelf.

For the first time, designers from both brands sat down together to develop a one-off livery that wraps around the brick-built replica. The motorsport-inspired graphics nod to the racing pedigree of the original coupé, and the wrap doesn’t stop at miniature scale. A full-size BMW M3 E30 showcar wearing the same striking design will roll out alongside the launch, giving the collaboration a presence on both the showroom floor and the display shelf.

Build quality sits at the heart of this 358-piece set. Every detail of the saloon-bodied legend has been carefully recreated, from the trademark kidney grille and the quartet of round headlamps up front to the rear spoiler that defined the first-generation M3 silhouette. Measuring 17 centimetres long and 7 centimetres wide, the model rolls on functional wheels, and a minifigure driver kitted out in a BMW M T-shirt is ready to take the helm.

Fans wanting to match their tiny pilot can grab a full-size version of that very same T-shirt from 1 August 2026, available through BMW dealerships and lifestyle.bmw.com. Crafted from organic cotton with detailed prints on the front and back, it’s a wearable tribute to the partnership and the car that inspired it.

The LEGO® Speed Champions BMW M3 E30 is up for pre-order now at LEGO.com, with the official release rolling into LEGO stores and BMW dealers on 1 August 2026. The launch will be marked by a public unveiling in Berlin, where enthusiasts can finally see the co-designed showcar in the metal and celebrate forty years of one of motorsport’s most enduring legends.
