BMW i4 M50 M Brooklyn Grey Stands Out with its carbon upgrades

The new i4 M50 is the first electric M vehicle from BMW. It will also bring a glimpse of things to come from the German automaker. Although it’s not a full-fledged M model, its energy gives it the title of an M Performance model. It’s because it can compete with inline-six models in the major leagues. Moreover, it comes with a wide range of customization options, just like every other BMW model.

For those looking to splurge on an electric M car, the high-end i4 M50 is currently on display at the BMW Welt in Munich. This zero-emissions Gran Tourer, finished in M Brooklyn Gray, rides on the largest wheels at hand. Its 20-inch pair (868 M) comes with a two-tone finish and amounts to €2,600 in its domestic market.

More tweaks become noticeable as we explore the vehicle more closely. This includes the M Carbon exterior package, the 50th anniversary M emblems, and expanded Shadowline trim. The i4 M50’s interior has been furnished with Fiona Red Merino leather from the Individual catalogue. Carbon fibre trim is also visible on its dashboard and centre console.

This top-of-the-line i4 is luxuriously outfitted with everything from a glass sunroof to its smoker’s package. This is customary for BMWs on display at the Welt. The adjacent build sheet displays M-branded seatbelts, a Harman Kardon surround system, and the M Technology Package.

A more powerful i4 model with a quad-motor arrangement is upcoming from BMW. However, it’s probably only a test vehicle for the first real electric M automobile. The flagship M50 model is still at the top, sitting above the new entry-level eDrive35 and midrange eDrive40.

When BMW launches the Neue Klasse platform in 2025 with an electric sedan and crossover, it will be the next vehicle of this size. The EV equivalent of the 5 Series Sedan will be a bigger i5, which will debut next year.
