[Video] BMW X3 M40i with Dahler Exhaust with OPF Sounds Good

On the other side of the world, our friends in Europe received new emission regulations which largely affected petrol engines. Under the new regulations, petrol cars are now required to have a petrol particulate filter installed or what is most commonly known in Germany as OPF.

OPF comes from the word Ottoparikelfilter which relates to Otto engines and particle filters. Unfortunately, the usage of OPF has an effect not only on the performance of various cars but also on the sound they produce. It functions as an additional filter inside the exhaust and that is bound to change the normal sounds of it.

This particular tuner, the Dahler, have created a way for this BMW X3 M40i model to still sound good despite having an OMF installed. There’s no mention of whether their exhaust also offers any sort of performance increase but the fact that it makes the B58 engine under the hood sound so good makes it very interesting!
