The BMW 4 Series Convertible is now here and we welcome it with a photo comparison against a close competitor. One of the more handsome convertibles, BMW 4 Series Convertible takes Audi A5 Cabriolet in a visual battle. In the coupe series, 4 Series Coupe sits lower in the visual ladder against Audi A5 Coupe. However, 4 Series ‘Vert’s jazzy image gives it an advantage for this convertible series comparison.

With the new grille design of the 4 Series Vert, Audi A5 Cabrio wins the upfront segment. The new grille of the 4 Series cannot compete with the less imposing front of the A5. Nevertheless, we give credit to the sleeker headlights of the 4 Series ‘Vert. Opinions are polarizing but that new grille design just doesn’t look good.

Moving forward, the 4 Series Convertible outshine the A5 Cabrio in its overall profile. The new 4 Series ‘Vert exudes elegance which looks really good, giving it a mini-GT car vibe. Although it’s a given that the A5 has an amazing shoulder line, with the roof down on Cabrio, this effect lessens. Also, the A5 Cabrio’s roof failed in copying the look of its Coupe’s roofline. The 4 Series’ more rounded roof looks much better even in the Convertible ones.

On the rear, Audi A5 Cabrio looks a bit more normal making it seem a bit boring. Compare that with the funky taillights and daring spoiler of the 4 Series Convertible. Surely, in this segment, the more exciting rear of 4 Series Vert takes the win.

Inside, the Audi A5 steps a little better. The cabin looks more modern and simpler, and it has a better digital display. On the other hand, the 4 Series has a good looking cabin too but a bit confusing. It has too varied digital dials making it seem more complicated to handle.
Overall, if you are up for a more stylish convertible, take a BMW 4 Series Convertible. There may be some issues with the new grille but that too can be an added style. Nevertheless, buying a convertible is often more about being stylish.
