Video – BMW 7 Series Stolen From BMW at Detroit Auto Show

WXYZ from the USA reports that a 7 Series used by BMW executives and important figures to drive around in during the 2011 Detroit Auto Show was car-jacked. Nineteen of these official cars were in Detroit for the auto show. The vehicle belonging to BMW of North America has been stolen in Detroit while being loaded to a truck near Westin Book Cadillac that will take it back to the BMW headquarters as the Detroit Auto Show comes to a close. Detroit Police are still searching for the dark gray 7 Series with New Jersey plates until now.

WXYZ reports that “The cars were being loaded into a car carrier to head back to New Jersey Wednesday night. Police say a hotel valet brought the BMW out of the garage and handed it over to the transporter. However, the handler stepped away for a second and witnesses say that’s when two car thieves jumped in and took off.”

Good thing the 7 Series is equipped with BMW Assist and its GPS tracking device, so the police believe they will eventually find it. Here is the video report:
