Alpina previews the 2014 ALPINA D3 BiTurbo ahead of its 2013 Frankfurt Auto Show debut. This sporty diesel sedan is based on the F30 3 Series. It will go on sale before the year ends. The ALPINA D3 is powered by an inline six-cylinder 3.0 liter TwinTurbo diesel motor delivering 345 HP (257kw) and 516 lb-ft (700 Nm) torque. 0 to 62 mph is achieved in 4.6 seconds. Top speed is set at 173 mph or 278 km/h. The fuel consumption ratings are 5.3 liters / 100 km or 44.3 MPG. The vehicle is available in both rear-wheel drive and xDrive setup, plus optional limited slip differential.
