New BMW M5 CS: The Most Powerful Production Car

BMW is up with the production of the most powerful production car to hit the streets – the BMW M5 CS. What makes it more interesting is that BMW will be making the M5 CS along with the company’s most powerful engine ever produced. BMW’s most powerful engine was never in the M Division, but it powers the McLaren F1.

The upcoming BMW M5 CS comes packed with the same 4.4 liters twin-turbocharged V8 engine like its M5 siblings. It is tuned to get a crunchy 627 horsepower, while its torque rating remains the same with 553 lb-ft. The German automaker claims that the BMW M5 CS makes a flat 3 seconds from zero to 100 km/h. Which, we all know, is underrated. Its acceleration dropped at 2.9 seconds, a bit faster than that of the M5 Competition with 3.1 seconds. The M5 CS reaches zero to 200 km/h (124 mph) in 10.4 seconds. It was able to get a top speed of 305 km/h (189 mph). Moreover, the M5 CS has the same powertrain as its M5 siblings with an xDrive all-wheel-drive. It also comes with an eight-speed ZF automatic gearbox.

This all-new BMW M5 CS will be available in the 2022 model year only. For the U.S, the M5 CS will come in lighter models at 230 lbs less than the M5 Competition. Moreover, the European spec BMW M5 CS will be 70 kilograms lighter than its Competition version. Expect that the U.S. cars will be arriving in the second half of the year. There is no word for now from BMW regarding the allocation and the number of units to produce. Its price will also be at $142,000 with an additional $995 Destination.

The new M5 CS will be available only in three colors, with the Brands Hatch Grey metallic as standard. Customers get the option to coat it in Frozen Brands Hatch Grey or Frozen Deep Green metallic. Its interior will only be in black with red accents. You can also have gold brake calipers with no extra cost, then those plain red ones. It is still good to know that BMW will be showcasing it in Frozen Deep Green Metallic for its launch.
