BMW Wins Three Telematics Innovation Awards

BMWNA had just received three awards during 10th annual international Telematics Update Conference in Detroit, USA.  This includes the Global Car Manufacturer Award awarded to BMW ConnectedDrive — considered as the most prestigious of all.

BMW’s Enhanced Automatic Collision Notification system which was developed by the William Lehman Injury Research Center was also recognized in the Best Embedded Telematics Service Award.

ConnectedDrive Services Manager for BMW of North America Francis Dance was awarded the Telematics Leadership Individual Award too.

BMW ConnectedDrive consists of electronic systems that are specifically designed to ensure safety and connectivity to the BMW drivers and passengers worldwide. Safety, Convenience and Infotainment are the three divisions of innovative development created by BMW.

The BMW AssistTM, Enhanced Automatic Collision Notification, Head-up Display, Blind Spot Detection, Lane Departure Warning, Active Cruise Control and BMW Night Vision with Pedestrian Detection are the technologies that comprise the Safety suite.

For the Convenience suite, there are teh technologies of BMW Navigation with Real-time Traffic info, BMW Search and MyInfo, BMW TeleService, driver’s profile transferred via USB, Rearview Camera with Top View, Sideview cameras and BMW Parking Assistant.

Of course there’s the Bluetooth® hands-free calling, iPod integration and hard-drive music storage; SiriusXM and HD Radio; weather forecasts and text-to-speech news included on the Infotainment suite.

Truly, BMW is the innovator for telematics worthy of recognition.
