BMW Charging and MINI Charging: Latest Names for ChargeNow Program

In 2015, BMW launched the ChargeNow DC Fast program that also started its partnership with EVgo. In order to take pleasure in their BMW i3’s one year of no-cost charging periods at engaged EVgo Stations, the licensed BMW i3 drivers must become part of this program. However, developments are currently on-the-go in Europe.

Starting on July 1, 2020, BMW Charging and MINI Charging will become the new names for Digital Charging Solutions’ known ChargeNow charging service. Under the new names, every ChargeNow functionalities will be accessible along with its saved login credentials.

Even so, the clients should take note that the changes are only applicable to BMW Charging. As for the MINI Charging, its process involves more intricacy based on what the ChargeNow website instructed. The MINI drivers should log in first to BMW Charging. This will then be followed by canceling their current contract on the site and make a new registration for MINI Charging.

In addition to that, a new mobile app will also become accessible for download. Although the existing ChargeNow charging cards are still usable, consumers in France, Germany, and the Netherlands will be able to purchase a new charging card for free in the BMW Charging design before the end of July.

Temporarily, the tariffs will also stay the same. This would mean that the BMW Charging in Germany will remain the same but will change both for its AC charger and DC charging station.

The kilowatt-hour charges will also change but with an exclusion on the lonity charging areas. In specific, it will be ten cents lower in the Active tariff. Lastly, the new program will also keep its “ChargeNow for Business.”
