BMW announced a new enhancement to the ConnectedDrive system: the Text-to-Speech play button for Facebook and Twitter. This new feature allows the messages to be read to the driver using text-to-speech technology and broadcasted through the car’s audio system. This allows the driver to read Facebook and Twitter messages without taking their eyes off the road.
The iPhone Calendar was also given extra capabilities which allows for the driver to view daily, weekly and monthly schedule appointments or have them read using the text-to-speech function.
BMW users can avail of these new features by accepting the free update to the BMW Connected app, via Apple’s app Store. For it to function, your BMW must be equipped with the optional BMW Apps (6NR) feature.
