Automotive News reports that BMW is in negotiation with Hyundai to co-develop a new engine line-up. BMW is interested in creating more partnerships like these to save costs in engine development. Rumor has it that Hyundai Chairman and BMW board members have met to discuss this matter already. However, BMW has not yet confirmed if this is true. Hyundai denied that such as meeting occurred. BMW is already working on engine and technology development with PSA/Peugeot-Citroen Group, Toyota and Daimler. Aside from Hyundai, BMW is also rumored to enter a partnership with General Motors, though none of these has been confirmed yet.
