BMW M Team WRT Dominates Misano, Rossi Shines

BMW M Team WRT delivered an outstanding performance at Misano, dominating the second event of the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Sprint Cup. The team celebrated victory in both races, with Valentino Rossi and Maxime Martin winning the first. Dries Vanthoor and Charles Weerts secured a one-two finish for the BMW M4 GT3. Vanthoor and Weerts took first place in the evening race, while Rossi and Martin finished third.

Qualifying on Friday hinted at the team’s strength, with pole positions in both sessions. Vanthoor and Weerts’ victory strengthened their position in the overall standings after their win at Brands Hatch. Although the #46 BMW M4 GT3 will only compete in the Endurance Cup for the rest of the season, it made a strong impression in its guest appearances.

In the Silver Cup, Calan Williams and Sam De Haan in the #30 BMW M4 GT3 claimed two victories, extending their lead in the standings. Century Motorsport, debuting in the GT World Challenge Europe, finished second in the Bronze Cup in race two, with Dan Harper and Darren Leung sharing the #991 BMW M4 GT3 cockpit.

The BMW M4 GT3’s versatility was evident, as it won four out of five season races at Le Castellet, Brands Hatch, and Misano. BMW M Team WRT celebrated its 50th victory in the Sprint Cup, a testament to its skill and teamwork. The team’s success at Misano boosts its confidence for the upcoming Endurance Cup events and the rest of the season.
