Rolex Monterey 2016 poster features BMW

The BMW brand is celebrated in the 2016 Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion, together with a host of other racing cars in history. The event will be the biggest celebration of the BMW brand that is held outside of Munich this year. There will be numerous BMW racing cars present in the event, plus a world premiere concept bonus as cherry on top. The 2016 Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion will be held on August 18-21 at the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. This is located at the scenic Monterey Peninsula. Before the fun begins in a few days, the race track has revealed the poster and BMW takes the hero shot:

The official poster shows the moment when Hans Stuck, Sam Posey, Allan Moffat and Brian Redman 1975 BMW 3.0 CSL won the the 12 Hours of Sebring. Beside it is the 1938 Mille Miglia-winning BMW 328 and BMW V12 LMR that was the overall winner at the 1999 24 Hours of Le Mans. Just above the famous Corkscrew is the BMW M3 GT2 Art Car created by Jeff Koons, which raced at the 2010 24 Hours of Le Mans. This art car was a tribute to the one that Andy Warhol did. It wears the number 79 which was the year Warhol created his BMW Art Car for his M3 GT2.

After the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion, the BMW Car Club of America’s annual Oktoberfest and the BMW Rider’s Association Annual Rally on August 24 – 28 will also be held at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. Motoring eyes will be focus on the circuit for quite some time.

The creator of the official poster is Bill Patterson, the official artist of Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. In real life it is 24” x 36” and can be purchased for $25 at the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca Souvenir Store. Posters will also be sold during the event.
