There were rumors that the BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo will be rebranded into a future 6 Series GT. Moreover, there is also word that BMW will be changing how they market the 6 Series. The 6 Series Coupe and Convertible will cater to a more premium market, as it moves up to the new 8 Series lineup. That will leave only the 6 Series Gran Turismo in the 6 Series line up. BMW Blog reports that the G32 6 Series Gran Turismo has received a green light and is due to launch by 2017.
Despite getting a new name and the integration into the 6 series, the Gran Turismo will be largely based on the BMW G38 5 Series version long wheelbase that was released exclusively for the Chinese market. Thanks to the longer wheelbase, it will provider more rear space and the overall look will be longer and more elegant.
For the engines and chassis, it will be adopted from the new G30 5 Series but more improved.
