BMW is brewing up a worthy rival to the Mercedes-Benz GLS-Class . The upcoming BMW X7 has just been spotted winter testing prior to its release. Autoblog published a photo showing a huge X7 with its big grille partially obscured. The X7 seen here does have a similar roofline to the GLS-Class but the reason is for practicality. This allows for better rear passenger head space and more cargo room that the customers will surely appreciate.
The design seen in the photo above is also similar to the upcoming BMW X5 – with a Hofmeister Kink that’s more rounded off.
The grille on this vehicle is massive. In fact, it is one of the largest grilles that BMW has ever used in their line up.
This new BMW X7 will utilize BMW’s CLAR (Cluster Architecture) platform, just like the X3, 5 Series and 7 Series, and it will be manufactured at BMW’s Spartanburg plant in South Carolina.
