[Video] Putting the BMW F82 M4 and G82 M4 Back-to-Back

Being shockingly fast, the G82 BMW M4 is indeed an impressive car. From what many have seen and heard, it is a big step up over its earlier-generation F82 M4 with its improved dynamics and handling. Joe Achilles went first hand to put both the F82 and G82 M4s back-to-back and finds out which is the most competent. Which one is better? Check out this newly released video by Joe Achilles for more details on the BMW G82 and F82 M4 comparison.

Both cars in this video have similar specs. The F82 and G82 are both in Competition Packages and run on Michelin Pilot Sports tires. The F82 BMW M4 comes packed with the older S55 3.0 liter twin-turbo inline-6 engine. It generates 444 horsepower (450 PS) with 406 lb-ft of torque in rear-wheel-drive and a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. As for the BMW G82 M4, it comes with an eight-speed automatic gearbox. However, the new BMW G82 M4 Competition is a bit more crunchy, making 503 horsepower and 650 Nm of torque. The F82 has advantages, too, with its lighter weight than the G82 M4 and a quicker shifting of the gearbox.

To compare these two exceptional cars, Joe Achilles puts them both first through their paces in a short handling circuit. Which one is faster in tight corners? The F82 M4 went first, followed by the G82. Both vehicles took up against each other in a standing drag race, followed by a rolling drag race.

The results are surprising, as you would not expect which exceeds which on a specific race. “I was pretty confident about how the races would turn out, and I was dead wrong about all three,” according to Nico DeMattia from BMWBLOG. “Also, can we show some love for the F82 BMW M4’s design? I never disliked it, personally, but I was also never a huge fan. Now, though, I think it is aged really well and looks fantastic, especially with the Competition Package, with its 666 M wheels. Now I really want on in Yas Marina Blue with a manual.” Go ahead and check the results in this new video from Joe Achilles.
