[Video] New BMW M4 Competition takes on the Audi RS6 Avant

BMW’s M3 and M4 are not rivals for the likes of an Audi RS6. For Ingolstadt’s big daddy, BMW has the M5 to take it on. Yet, people will try to race anything on the road. That means you should not back down, especially when owning an RS6 or an M4. Just like what we are about to see in this video from Archie Hamilton Racing. Archie features the new BMW M4 Competition as it takes on the Audi RS6 for a drag race.

This BMW M4 Competition comes with a massive price hike compared to its predecessor. Seeing how it reaches the 100,000 Euro mark is not that hard of a task it also makes a fair match-up with its pricing. However, what we are more up to here is both the cars’ incredible performance. How do these impressive cars both do in a straight line?

From its spec sheet, the BMW M4 Competition has a bit of a disadvantage. It packs a 3.0 liter straight-six twin-turbo engine beneath its lid that makes 504 horsepower and 650 Nm of torque. That does seem big, though it is not the case when matched with the RS6 Avant. It is due to its 4.0 liter twin-turbo V8 engine under the hood. Its engine is good for making 591 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque. However, the M4 comes with more shaved weight over the heavier Avant, giving it an advantage.

The M4 in this video is one of the early BMW M4 models in a rear-wheel-drive setup. Both cars do have a similar eight-speed ZF-sourced automatic gearbox and launch control. Yet, the RS6 gets more grip and power from a standstill. That gives the RS6 be able to use more of its resources down. However, will that be enough to beat the M4? Only one way to find out with this new video.
