BMW’s decision not to kill the 6 Series and replace it with the 8 Series surprised many. In a surprising turn of events, the company presented the 6 Series Gran Turismo. The model is now about to receive a new engine option in the form of another version of the 6er – the 640d xDrive GT.
The new 640d will run on a B57 3.0-liter straight-six engine with two turbochargers. It will output 320 HP and 680 Nm of torque and, as the name suggests, have an all-wheel drive system.
BMW announced the new model will need 5.3 seconds to go from 0 to 100 km/h with efficient consumption – between 6.2 and 5.8 liters per 100 km.
