When investing around $85,000 in an i5 M60, a bit extra for a unique touch seems worth it. Displayed at the BMW Welt in Munich, this luxurious G60 build showcases an opulent 5 Series Sedan. It melds M Performance Parts with a matte Individual paint finish. It stands as the nearest alternative to an electric M5 — which isn’t slated for release soon. Meanwhile, next year’s super sedan and wagon will feature a plug-in hybrid V8, blending power and efficiency.
The new 5 Series’ electric M Performance variant is striking in Frozen Pure Grey. It also comes with a carbon fibre-reinforced plastic (CFRP) aerodynamic body package. This package, extending from the front splitter to the rear diffuser, is entirely crafted from CFRP. Every detail, including the trunk lid spoiler and side skirt attachments, is meticulously finished. The electric M Performance stands out with a layer of clear lacquer, adding to the car’s sleek and polished appearance.
This top-tier 5 Series variant, an enhanced i5 M60, stands out with its unique 21-inch lightweight alloy wheels. These two-tone, Y-spoke design wheels are distinct from those on a standard i5 M60. Complementing its superior status, it also boasts upgraded brakes with red callipers. BMW has thoughtfully paired the black kidney grille with a Frozen Black decorative stripe and Shadowline headlamps, adding to its distinguished look.
The M60 is the sole M Performance variant of the 5 Series available as a pure electric model. However, rumours hint at a new addition: an inline-six plug-in hybrid M560e xDrive, expected to debut in 2024.
