The BMW 7 Series is the automaker’s flagship in terms of luxury and technologies. There is a lot of effort that goes into making this car the best luxury car that can be bought in the market. However, there is an argument that the best-ever 7 Series doesn’t actually come out of BMW’s doors in Munich — fans say it is from ALPINA.
ALPINA is a well-known German tuner that specifically works on BMWs. The ALPINA B7 is famous for its additional power, luxury and features than the standard 7 Series. Most tuners just add some extra features to cars but this is one of the very few times that a tuner came up with a car so well-rounded, it feels like a completely different vehicle.
Reviews released about the B7’s performance on the road have nothing but praise to the car. It is a luxury car but a real lunatic in terms of speed. It drives so effortlessly too, even if it is a huge car! In many reviews, it is actually referred to as a sports car.
This performance is made possible by a 4.4 liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine tuned by ALPINA to a whopping 600 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque. 0-60 mph is achieved in just 3.8 seconds. Top speed is 205 mph. That’s not something you’d expect from a four-door, four seater, luxury car. To rub it in, the ALPINA B7 even has a higher top speed than a mid-engine McLaren 650S which only does 204 mph.
The interior is also where it sets itself out from the standard 7 Series. It has lots of technology and gives the passengers above the standard comfort and functionality. That makes it the best-ever 7 Series yet!
