London Anti-Terrorist Security WIll Use BMW F800 GS bikes

In order to prevent new terrorist attacks that had been frequent all over Europe, London Police is setting up heavily armed patrols on BMW F800 GS motorcycles on the city’s streets. They will be armed with pistols and semi-automatic SIG Carbine rifles and will be riding on powerful bikes.

They have received the BMW bikes in order to be able to go to the potential crime scene quickly. For crossing over the Thems, they will use electric boats.

As an officer told Sky News:

“Traffic can be gridlocked at the best of times – certainly in the times of an attack. If you look at Europe, at Paris and Belgium, traffic becomes a major impingement on a rapid response. We’ve looked at tactics and pillion riding with motorcycles gives us a very fast and effective response. The guys practice riding off road so they can bump up and down across pavements and make really good progress from A to B.
