BMW looking to produce the 3 and 5 Series at the Spartanburg Plant

The U.S. is one of the biggest markets outside Germany when it comes to the premium segment. As part of BMW’s future planning and strategy, the automaker is planning to add additional models to the Spartanburg USA Plant’s production line. This include the best selling 3 Series and 5 Series models. According to the rumor at BimmerToday, this information came from Ian Robertson, member of the Board of Management of BMW AG responsible for Group sales and marketing. This is so BMW could keep up with increased demands.

The Spartanburg plant currently produces BMW X3, X5 and X6 Sports Activity Coupe. The plant also previously produced the E36 3 Series and E85/E86 Z4 models. With its recent expansion, BMW can use the facility to keep up with the increasing demand for BMW cars.
