[VIDEO] BMW M3 xDrive Against Porsche 911 Turbo S – Drag Race

Taking the BMW M3 against Porsche 911 Turbo S in a drag race sounds absurd. However, a 600 hp BMW M3 xDrive versus the Porsche 911 Turbo S is very interesting. Watch the video and figure out which supercar won the drag race.

The BMW M3 xDrive model in this video is not a standard G80. Wrench Studios, a UK shop, cracked the inline six’s ECU to draw more power. Through a remapping of its engine control unit, the S58 managed to have 600 hp.

Through the stage 1 kit, the twin-turbo 3.0-liter engine now releases an additional 100 Nm of torque. Overall, the tuned M3 G80 now delivers a generous 750 Nm of torque. All this additional power makes the M3 xDrive a good competitor in a drag race. However, are these enough to win against the Turbo S?

Of course, the all-conquering 911 is still more powerful in terms of horsepower and torque. It carries 650 hp and 800 Nm of torque. Also, its AWD system receives the flat-six engine’s power from an eight-speed automatic transmission. In addition, it weighs 140 kg lighter than the M3.

The drag race in this video consisted of drag and rolling races, and a brake test. Interestingly, the fired-up M3 xDrive won the first battle. This can be a result of the M3’s better start.

However, the second drag race had a different result. It seems that the BMW had an unfortunate start because of its traction. The lack of traction off the line caused the wheels to spin. This gave the 911 Turbo S an advantage for the second duel. Nevertheless, the third battle decided the winner.

As expected the 911 Turbo S won with a three-tenths of a second faster than the M3 xDrive. The outcome of the race is not surprising. However, a tuned-up BMW M3 xDrive against the 911 S Turbo is worth the watch!
