Many thought that the BMW M2 was just the over-hyped version of the BMW M235i when it first came out. While the two cars are very similar at some points, such as the engine, the M2 is a full-M car and stands out with more than a couple of horsepowers.

The M2, compared to the M235i, has better axle elastokinematics, better suspension, an M differential, and a 7-speed DCT gearbox.

To go even further, the two were compared and measured on the track. See how they did in the video above. Seems like both cars show more than their specs suggest.
