BMW’s latest X3 has barely settled into showrooms, yet German tuner AC Schnitzer has already uncaged a striking makeover that transforms the mid-size SUV into something altogether more purposeful. Dubbed the X3 G45 by AC Schnitzer, the package picks up where BMW’s own M Performance trim leaves off, adding race-inspired aero elements and sharpened stance to serve drivers who want their X3 to broadcast intent the moment it rolls up.

Up front, a deep polyurethane splitter slices the airflow while flared side wings and sculpted skirts draw visual mass lower to the tarmac, helping the body look more planted. A roof spoiler caps the tailgate and is said by the tuner to generate genuine downforce once speeds rise, underscoring that the changes are more than mere decoration.
Wheel-arch gaps shrink courtesy of 10 mm spacers and shorter springs that drop ride height by up to 25 mm. Buyers can choose from a range of signature alloys between 19 and 22 inches, each design sitting flush with the arches to underline the SUV’s broader shoulders and tightened proportions.

Beneath the skin, this show car runs BMW’s 2.0-litre diesel, recognisable from its discreet badging and hidden tailpipes, yet AC Schnitzer confirms a similar upgrade is in the pipeline for the punchier M50 petrol flagship. With BMW currently ruling out a full-fat X3 M, the Schnitzer-tuned M50 is set to become the fiercest factory-backed option.
The cabin receives aluminium pedals, a matching footrest, a milled iDrive controller cover and a branded key cradle that docks neatly in a cup-holder. It is a short list, but enough to remind occupants that this X3 sits a rung above the ordinary. Taken as a whole, the makeover injects attitude, presence and a dose of genuine aerodynamic purpose, giving the BMW X3 an edge that bridges the gap between showroom stock and motorsport-inspired street machine.
