[Video] Is the BMW M2 CS more superior to the M2?

Since the BMW M2 CS, most of the car enthusiasts seem to consider it to be superior in driving than the M Car at the moment. There are still some supporters. However, who doubt whether or not it’s worth the extra cash over the regular M2 Competition, which is already such a nice package. In this video, we’ll get to see if the M2 CS is really worth the extra cash.

It does not look like that on paper. There are only a few additional horsepowers (444vs405), with the inclusion of adjustable dampers and ceramic carbon brakes. Surely, the nearly $30,000 price increase over the M2 competition isn’t worth those few things, right?

In reality, there’s a lot more to the M2 CS than just those few stuff, though. The BMW M2 gets a carbon fiber roof for ‘CS’ duty (engineered, checked and designed only for the M2 CS, which is incredibly pricey, so kudos to BMW for that), revamped steering, suspension and calibration diff. So, for sure, it is a sharper car to drive. Not to consider the fact that the interior is lighter and exclusive, even if physically less functional and comfortable.

So, does Car Mag believe that the extra cheddar over the exclusive BMW M2 CS already awesome compare with the M2 Competition? Frankly, no. Not that it’s not a better M2 CS, because it is, and not that it’s not an awesome unit, because it is. It’s just that the M2 Competition is already so fantastic, it’s already such a genius sports car package, that if it costs almost 50 percent more than the regular car, it’s hard to justify incremental variations in the UK. The BMW M2 CS is a spectacular car, but the M2 Competition is also beautiful and it’s a lot cheaper.
