This 2007 BMW M5 was taken to a dealership in Texas, USA for a regular service appointment. After a few hours, the owner received a call and was informed that there had been an accident. The 20 year old technician of the dealership took the car for a test drive and accidentally slid into a curb at 20 miles per hour. This was how it looked after the accident. The wheel was cracked, tire blown, the strut was cracked open, borked inner brace, bent steering gear assembly, damaged rear suspension, and the front end needs a complete overhaul.
The owner went to the accident site and soon realized that it was not a 20 mph test drive after all. In order for this damage to occur, the technician must have been driving very fast.
The estimated the cost for the repair parts of the dealership is US$2,500, excluding the paint job. But upon checking with another dealership, the owner found out that it will really cost around US$14,000 in parts and IS$16,000 in labor.
Legal advice is being sought by the owner and is hoping to get justice in this incident.
