Discover the BMW iX2 xDrive30 in Brooklyn Grey

Across Europe, test drives for the latest BMW iX2 are in progress. Although comprehensive reviews are still embargoed, new images provide an early glimpse. Near Lisbon, Portugal, recent photos showcase a Brooklyn Grey BMW iX2 xDrive30. The BMW X2 offers various exterior colours, including this subtle grey option.

Customers have a choice of eleven metallic and two solid paint options for the new BMW X2. The selection includes the new Fire Red metallic variant. Additionally, BMW offers a variety of custom paint treatments and two Frozen hues. Some of the colours available are Brooklyn Grey metallic, Fire Red metallic, and Cape York Green metallic. This includes Black Sapphire metallic, Skyscraper Grey metallic, and Frozen Pure Grey metallic.

The silent sibling and the standard X2 (codenamed “U10”) unveiled today share the same platform. However, the quiet sibling boasts slightly better aerodynamics. While the X2 has a Cd of 0.27, BMW has reduced the drag coefficient to 0.25. Installing a closed-off kidney grille and completely sealing the underbody minimized drag to achieve this.

The BMW iX2 xDrive30 boasts a WLTP range of 259 to 279 miles (417 to 449 kilometres) with its 64.8 kWh battery. It outperforms the iX1 by nearly six miles (9 kilometres) by incorporating a heat pump for automatic climate control, which preheats or precools the interior.

The performance is remarkable, achieving a 5.6-second sprint to 62 mph (100 km/h). However, the electronic cap limits the top speed to 112 mph (180 km/h). The dual-motor setup, similar to the iX1 xDrive30, delivers a combined output of 308 hp (230 kW) and 364 lb-ft (494 Nm).

In Germany, the BMW iX2 will go on sale in March for a starting price of about 55,000 euros. Regretfully, the BMW iX2 will not be available in the United States, similar to the iX1.
