BMW M2 HRE Wheels Edition Echoes 1980s Flair

The G87 M2’s styling has sparked debate among BMW fans, with many favouring the F87 model’s design. The M2, like other sports cars, benefits from the tuning community’s eagerness to work on fun vehicles. This enthusiasm is especially notable when the models are expected to be widely popular. Priced as the most affordable true M model, the M2 is well-positioned for commercial success. Its predecessor’s impressive sales, nearing 60,000 units, reinforced this likelihood.

Delivered late last year, the second-generation M2’s owner immediately began customizing it. The car features a white build, highlighted by exposed R44 Performance carbon fibre components. Yet, the wheels truly set this M2 apart from other G87s. These HRE forged wheels from the company’s Vintage Series are tailored to match the tail-happy Bavarian coupe, adding a distinctive flair.

Available in 18 to 24 inches, these wheels boast a design from the 1980s. They instantly remind us of the iconic BBS wheels on the M3 E30. For this M2, the white finish with a polished outer lip pairs perfectly with a KW suspension. This setup lowers the sports car, giving it a more aggressive stance and attitude.

This G87 is exceptionally well-presented, featuring a large trunk lid spoiler that enhances the rear’s muscular appearance. Observers will note the orange side reflectors, typical of US specs, are now body-coloured for a cohesive look. The rear diffuser and other custom parts, made from matching materials, blend seamlessly with the carbon roof, creating a harmonious aesthetic.

BMW offers a wide range of upgrades for the latest M2 via the M Performance Parts catalogue. The G87’s customization possibilities range from centre-lock wheels to stacked exhaust tips. These options enable owners to add a unique and personal touch to their vehicles.
