A Glimpse of the BMW M4 Redesigned with Concept Coupe Styling

BMW’s recent designs have often sparked debate. The G20 3 Series was likely their last launch without criticism. Yet, the Concept Touring Coupe, a modern Z3 M Coupe, won wide approval. Its design, at least, seemed popular. Thus, using this style on the BMW M4, BMW’s most controversial model seems promising.

Khyzyl Saleem’s new rendering presents the M4 with Concept Touring Coupe elements. It features a grille echoing the Concept’s, a Z4 resemblance, replacing the M4’s. But the M4’s headlights can’t accommodate the wide Z4 grille, so only a part remains. The Z4’s vertical front-view headlights allow a larger grille, unlike the M4’s. Despite its reduced size in the rendering, it retains Z4 and Concept design traces, improving the M4’s appearance significantly.

The reimagined M4 carries the Concept Touring Coupe’s brown-rich colour palette, plus a reworked grille. It boasts a dark bronze hue with light gold accents. This same trim colour graces the grille, window trim, side mirrors, and wheels. Its understated and luxe colour choice, steering clear of flashy shades, distinguishes it from typical concept designs. This adds an elegant touch to the usually aggressive M4.

The BMW M4’s aggressive look is toned down by its typical ‘Nosferatu-on-steroids’ grille. It has the classic BMW M aesthetic – sporty yet simple, muscular but not overly showy. Seeing the M4 with an upright grille is refreshing and slightly annoying as it hints at what could have been.

However, you can easily recreate this rendering. Various aftermarket BMW M4 grilles, like the one from ADRO, can significantly alter the car’s front look. You can wrap the trim in bronze and the body in a similar brown tone. Thus, bringing the rendering to life.
