BMW launches the new BMW 128ti worldwide and has caught the attention of many. It received plenty of reviews from several enthusiasts, including all sorts of acceleration tests and drag racing. The guys from AutoTopNL decide to take the BMW 128ti out for a drive on the unrestricted Autobahn section. In this newly released video from AutoTopNL, we get to see how the new BMW 128ti handles a top-speed run. Did it do well? Probably yes, according to their measuring equipment. Check out for more details in this video from AutoTopNL of the new BMW 128ti hot hatch.
This hot hatch BMW 128ti runs in a front-wheel-drive setup and is made to tackle other models in the same category and size. Its main rival that first comes into mind is the Volkswagen Golf GTI. Both hot hatches share similar specs, and it seems that the two will be going on against each other. Yet, what exact specs are the same? BMW’s 128ti uses a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine. It also makes 265 horsepower and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque
Furthermore, all of its power runs down the front wheels alone in an eight-speed automatic gearbox. BMW claims that this setup makes the BMW 128ti reach the benchmark speed of 6.1 seconds in 62 mph. However, knowing that BMW underrates their claims, results came out differently. From the Draggy app in this video, the specific model used reached the speed in 5.93 seconds. It turns out that it came out faster than the given figures of the automaker.
Moreover, Its top speed is the same case as other BMW models reaching upto 250 km/h limitedly. The 128ti also did not need to slow down too much for the top end as it was able to reach its limiter in decent time. However, it is not an M product, but rather a hot hatch for that driving pleasure and fun feel.
