BMW i4 M50 Safety Car Stuns in Striking Sanremo Green

The i4 M50’s unexpected success in 2022 and early 2023 made it the best-selling M division product. Despite debates on electric M Performance vehicles, BMW’s portfolio includes the i5 M60, iX M60, and i7 M70, with the i4 M50 as a standout. Some may remember it as the first electric safety car at the FIM Enel MotoE World Cup. It has since been used for Driving Experience events in Ireland. This model features a stylish Sanremo Green Metallic paint job instead of the MotoE livery.

It flaunts red brake callipers, a two-tone look, and 20-inch 868M-style wheels, complemented by a roof-mounted LED light bar. Inside, optional cognac M Sport seats and laser lighting add distinctive touches. Remember that a car’s specifications may vary by country, so it’s best to consult a local BMW dealer for precise details.

With a Life Cycle Impulse coming, now might not be the ideal time to buy the i4 M50. In 2024, the top model in the 4 Series Gran Coupe lineup will be redesigned. Notably, all prototypes feature updated headlights. Given the trend in newer BMW models, it wouldn’t be surprising if a matrix LED setup replaced the laser headlights mentioned earlier.

Recent camouflaged prototypes reveal a new kidney grille mesh design. Size and shape remain unchanged, with minor bumper and taillight adjustments. Expect pre-installed iDrive 8.5 and eco-friendly materials inside. i4 LCI production starts in July 2024 arriving in the US in 2025. Rumours suggest discontinuation in summer 2028, possibly transitioning to the CLAR platform from Neue Klasse.
