Autobild, a German magazine, presents these attractive computer generated images of the upcoming BMW X7. Some of the design cues on these images were inspired by the recently unveiled 5 Series. The massive front end consists of an oversized kidney grille with a thick chrome outer edge, slim and sleek taillights, large air intakes and bumper.

On the side the images show a typical BMW SUV. At the back there is a large tailgate with a roof spoiler, matched with long taillights that wrap around the corners. It has an overall premium, sporty look.

The large, luxurious SUV will be longer and larger than the X5, with a length of 5,25 m. It will house 7 passengers and will offer cabin space and luxury like no other BMW before.

In terms of powertrains, the 3.0 twin-turbo I6 from the 740i is likely to be the standard engine with the 4.4 liter twin-turbo V8 from the 750i being the top-end engine, similar to the 7 Series. A plug-in hybrid variant and a variant with the 6.6 liter twin-turbo V12 from the M760Li is also possible.

The attractive BMW X7 will sit above the X5 and X6 when it is unveiled in 2018, competing with the Mercedes-Benz GLS Class and Range Rover.
