A MINI model without the name Cooper is a thing we can’t envision in this present time. However, that wasn’t always the case because the original MINI was never designed to be sporty. The great intellect of John Cooper made the first MINI into a rally-winning icon. As a result, cars were then named after him to value his contributions. Even the quickest models today from the British brand bear the John Cooper works insignia. Now, MINI launched the MINI Anniversary Edition with only 740 units.
This commemorates the 60 years of work with the Cooper family and their historical relationship. Furthermore, the MINI Anniversary Edition will be in MINI Cooper, Cooper S and John Cooper Works trim levels. The 740 units ensemble the number 74 worn by the first MINI Copper in a successful race track appearance. The MINI Anniversary edition is a tribute to John Cooper, who died 21 years ago. It also serves as a monument of how the premium compact vehicle market continues to enjoy the maximum driving pleasure in his honour today.Â
It will include unique styling and equipment such as the British Racing Green metallic exterior paint. In addition to the Rebel Green body colour, a Midnight Bleck metallic variation is available for the MINI John Cooper Works. White roof, mirror caps, door handles and surrounds for the head and rear lights can be paired with all paint choices. Piano Black high-gloss is also available for other exterior trim elements. Â
White bonnet stripes and a red accent line accentuate the exterior features in these limited-edition models. The number 74 is visible on the bonnet and doors of the MINI Anniversary Edition. It also includes 18-inch John Cooper Works light-alloy wheels with a two-tone Circuit Spoke design and a frequency-selective damping suspension. On the door sill trims, side scuttles, C-pillars and the centre spoke of the Nappa sports leather steering wheel, you may find a “COOPER†name logo.Â
There is an anthracite-coloured headliner and Dinamica/leather Carbon Black John Cooper Works sports seats on the inside. It also includes Piano Black high-gloss interior trim and stainless steel pedals. The luggage compartment lid and the passenger side surface feature a red ring from the original John Cooper emblem. John, Mike and Charlie Cooper’s signatures can also be found on the driver’s side surface. A logo with John Cooper’s signature and a handwritten remark of “1 of 740†is located inside the driver’s door frame. It also includes the phrase “60 YEARS OF MINI COOPER – THE UNEXPECTED UNDERDOGâ€.
