As the third-gen MINI Countryman’s debut nears, an Instagram post offers an early look at its innovative design. Let’s explore what these sneak peeks reveal before the official unveiling.
From the side, the new Countryman appears larger and more boxy, a departure from the current model. It features a squared-off front end, pronounced overhangs, and sharp, angular headlights reminiscent of the ACEMAN Concept. The octagonal grille aligns with MINI’s visual identity.
The third-gen MINI Countryman measures 4429 mm (174.3 in) in length, 1613 mm (63.5 in) in height, with a 2670 mm (105.1 in) wheelbase. It’s smaller than its BMW platform counterpart but larger than the previous model. This accommodates the smaller electric-only Aceman, coming in 2024. The electric Countryman lineup offers two options: the 188 hp (140 kW) Countryman E and the 268 hp (200 kW) Countryman SE ALL4, featuring all-wheel drive with electric motors on both axles.
Both variants feature a 64-kWh battery pack. The two-wheel-drive model aims for a 440 km (273 miles) range in the WLTP cycle, while the more powerful version targets 420 km (261 miles) on a single charge. The gasoline-powered Countryman with S and JCW performance variants continues, with detailed specifications yet to be revealed, except for front-wheel drive. The future of the MINI Countryman promises an electrifying ride for enthusiasts.
