MINI Celebrates Two Decades Since US Launch

When it comes to releasing limited-edition models, few automakers are as prolific as MINI. BMW’s Oxford-based marque division had to celebrate 20 years of legal U.S. presence. To mark the occasion, MINI has updated the exterior and interior of the Cooper S Hardtop 4 Door with special MINI 20 Years Edition trim.

The super hot hatchback shares its Chili Red exterior with the original MINI introduced in the United States in 2002. Island Blue and Pepper White are two other options. This trio of hues, we are told, was selected because it represents the American and British flags. Every vehicle has silver roof trim and mirror covers. Furthermore, they are all given a black border with the American flag colours of red, white, and blue stripes.

Special edition MINIs should include all the standard features. Automatic climate control, heated front seats, a digital gauge display, and a storage package are added to the energetic hatchback. The 20 Years Edition comes with various extras, such as a touchscreen navigation system and Apple CarPlay compatibility.

The 17-inch black wheels on the Cooper S Hardtop 20 Years Edition are wrapped in all-season tyres, and the vehicle comes standard with a panoramic moonroof and roof rails. Black leatherette covers the seats inside, while the 20 Years Edition inserts in the Nappa leather steering wheel are a nice touch. The limited edition model emphasises the point with black piano finishing and artwork commemorating the first two decades of production.
