MINI has officially challenged Porsche to a race. Aside from a MINI vs PORSCHE Facebook Page, they have released this video, online petition, and a full page print ad on The New York Times to make their message clear.
It will be the Cooper S model against Porsche’s 911 Carrera S on June 22, 2010, once Porsche agrees to participate in the race.
This video shows Mini USA CEO Jim McDowell directly challenging Porsche USA president Detlev von Platen to a race which will be held in Road Atlanta, USA.
Known for creative advertising, MINI hits a good one once again. You will not regret watching this video, it is so hilariously creative:
Call it crazy, as the 911 Carrera S is known to be more potent than the MINI, McDowell believes that they can win this one. This race will not be open to the public though. Only selected journalists will be there to report live.
I personally think that MINI does not need to win the race. After all, this has proven that nothing beats MINI in marketing strategies and creativity.
