Auto Motor Und Sport, a German Publication, came up with a size comparison between the BMW 5 Series and 7 Series. This is to address the market’s speculation and disappointment that BMW is using the same sausage, different size approach. Here are the technical specifications:
BMW F10 5-series
Length – 192.8 inches (4899 mm)
Width – 73.2 inches (1860 mm)
Height – 57.6 inches (1464 mm)
Wheelbase – 116.8 inches (2968 mm)
BMW F01 7-series
Length – 199.7 inches (5072 mm)
Width – 74.9 inches (1902 mm)
Height – 58.2 inches (1478 mm)
Wheelbase – 120.9 inches (3070 mm)
To the trained eye, the difference between these two vehicles are large. They have different design languages. The rear ends, headlights and front-grilles show distinctive differences. The high-end technology is also present in the 7 Series alone. Generally, the new 5 Series Sedan is only 7 inches shorter than the 7 Series, and less 2 inches wide.
