MINI Cooper SD scheduled for debut at the Geneva Motor Show

Recent reports reveal that MINI will introduce the MINI Cooper SD at the Geneva Motor Show this year. The MINI Cooper SD is a diesel-powered version of the Cooper S. Automotive journalists expect this car to use a modified 1.6-liter or 2.0-liter engine delivering approximately 143 horsepower and 225 lb-ft of torque. These numbers are considerably lower than the MINI Cooper S’ 184 horsepower. However, it is expected to return 65 mpg (imp).

No rumors of the MINI Clubman and Countyman SD unveiling have been circulating. However, there is still a possibility that the SD lineup will take center stage at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show.
