BMW X3 Luxury Edition Kicks off in India with Diesel Power

India did not get the gasoline version of the BMW X3 since its launch in June until last month. This week, BMW added a diesel model to the line-up in the form of the xDrive20d. A 2.0-litre four-cylinder with 190 hp powers the X3 Luxury Edition premium SUV.

All the torque kicks in early because it is an oil-burner with 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque. It is on from 1,750 rpm. The X3 reaches a top speed of 132 mph (213 km/h) and hits 62 mph (100 km/h) in 7.9 seconds. Power is transmitted to both axles via an eight-speed automatic transmission, which the xDrive30i also has.

The Audi Q5 and the Volvo XC60 are only available as petrol models. It is therefore worth noting that the X3 Luxury Edition will not compete with these cars. Instead, BMW will compete with Mercedes’ GLC and Land Rover’s Discovery Sport. The Indian model comes with a panoramic sunroof and 19-inch wheels.

BMW includes standard electrically adjustable front seats with memory function to live up to the X3 Luxury Edition name. A three-zone automatic transmission and a pair of 12.3-inch screens for the instrument cluster and infotainment are also found in the sporty crossover. Additionally, the company offers a 36-degree camera and ambient lighting to sweeten the deal.

It should be noted that BMW manufactures the X3 locally in Chennai for the Indian market. The diesel model gets adaptive LED matrix headlights and LED taillights and the same look as the gasoline model. A Harman Kardon sound system and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility are other features.

The BMW X3 Luxury Edition 2022 with diesel is already available to order. It is available in various colours, Carbon Black, Sophisto Grey, Black Sapphire, Brooklyn Grey, Mineral White and Phytonic Blue.
