[VIDEO] BMW M4 Competition vs Porsche 911 – A New Drag Race

The new BMW M4 Competition has been flocked by many since its debut. Many vloggers and journos made comparisons with the M4 Competition to its closest rivals when it got out in public. One of the most common squaring matches was the M4 Competition with the Porsche 911. Brush your thoughts aside about the GT3 or Turbo models. But, look on the other side of the selection for the M4’s proper rival – the Carrera and Carrera 4 models.

In a Car Magazine comparison last week, the BMW M4 Competition was featured taking up the standard Carrera 911. The results of the drag race are astounding. It turned out that the M4 is considerably more powerful than the Porsche 911, with a 125 horsepower gap between the two. The Porsche Carrera 911 does have a better launch control sequence than that of the BMW M4 Competition. It is probably because the M4 is yet in the rear-wheel-drive. Moreover, the M4 aced one of the two drag races.

The guys from Motorsport Magazine decided to do the same race again, but this time results came out differently. Porsche’s slowest and cheapest Porsche 911 Carrera comes powered by a 3.0 litre flat-six turbocharged engine. It produces about 385 horsepower.  The Porsche 911 comes packed with an eight-speed PDK gearbox with an acceleration of 4.0 seconds from 0-100km/h. The Carrera 911 has the Chrono package in which the car in the video has.

On the other hand, the BMW M4 Competition showcases a 510 horsepower with an eight-speed automatic gearbox. The M4 usually sends all of its power to the four corners of the car. BMW M4 uses a rear axle for driving force in this video. BMW claims acceleration of 3.9 seconds from 0-100 km/h for the BMW M4. Check out this video of Motorsport Magazine to find out. Which one do you think wins?
