BMW 3.0 CSL, M2, and XM Take Center Stage at the 2023 Brussels Motor Show

Traditional auto shows may have reached the height of their popularity, but that doesn’t mean automakers are abandoning them. As an illustration, consider BMW. It is now putting on quite the show in Belgium by displaying some of its hottest M vehicles at the 2023 Brussels Motor Show. We’re discussing the highly rare 3.0 CSL, the brand-new M2 G87, and the contentious XM.

The M4 CSL-based special edition uses the most potent iteration of the inline-six engine. It pairs the twin-turbo 3.0-litre to a manual transmission. Only 50 individually numbered cars are being built. All of which will have this Alpine White Uni paint with M graphics. BMW intends to give them only two seats, rear-wheel drive, and a coach-built body with a design derived from the 2015 3.0 CSL Hommage concept. Although the Munich-based company never officially announced a price tag, the hand-built car is rumoured to cost €750,000.

The second-generation M2 will be present at the 2023 Brussels Motor Show as a significantly more economical sports coupe. It will be remembered as one of the last BMWs in serial production with three pedals and a non-electrified engine. The tiny sports vehicle is shown with the 50 years of M anniversary emblems as a remembrance of last year’s landmark, much like the 3.0 CSL.

Since the renowned mid-engined M1 supercar from the late 1970s and early 1980s, the stunning XM is the first dedicated M model. BMW opted to take advantage of the SUV boom and create a massive vehicle with a roomy cabin. As a result, it is far from being a direct replacement for the low-slung coupe. The Label Red will be the most potent production BMW ever. It will be released later this year and have about 750 horsepower. Meanwhile, the vehicle on display in Belgium is the standard variant.

The M3 Touring is also present at the event. The Z4 M40 LCI and the i4 M50 are two other BMWs that visitors may see in person, along with less exciting models like the X1 (xDrive 25e and iX1 xDrive30), 2 Series Active Tourer (225e), X7 xDrive40d, iX xDrive40, and i7 xDrive60.
